Heidelberg is next to the N2 national road some 2½ hours drive from Cape Town (270 km) and 90 minutes from George (160 km). The town is located on the banks of the Duivenhoks river between the majestic Langeberg mountains and the sea. You can travel to the town by car or by bus (it is on the main bus route). The closest airport is in George.

Turn off of the N2 into Eksteen Street (at the Wimpy Bar and service stations). Turn right at the first stop sign into Fourie Street. Turn left at the next stop sign into van Riebeeck Street. Turn left into Park Street and you will see Arista Cottage at the T-junction.
